Ready for an uplifting story...Ok then...

In the process of combining repurposing for near instant application of our

block pile' methods, along with fulfillment of our charter efforts and based on the success of the donated materials to PetJazz park, we went back to Facebook marketplace and found an outside handicap wheelchair lift for FREE. This became the prototype shown above, although it had already been promised to a different owner; once an opportunity opened up, the owners Gene and Teri reached back to us to let us know it was available.  Now we had to transport it.

Having a different number of methods available; the one we selected was to find the manufacturer and see of their thoughts on it.   A second reason was that we had determined this of enough value that the owner, now 'donor' should get something for it, and sought to get an appraisal from the company to do just that.  We could then not only use the lift for handicap access, but also to move equipment into the facility.  First things first, we made arrangements with Access Elevator who were kind enough to donate a generous portion of the transportation cost (thanks again)  and offer to install it at the location.   This would start conversations about other elevators which we need at the facility...Alas

Upon inspection, the lift even though it was made in 1999, does not have modern replacements, therefore it can't be fixed or maintained, thus no one is getting on or in it.  It's headed for the scrap heap.  What remains however is Love.  The Love that was put into this process, along with all the hopes and dreams, remains...to Gene and Teri, and to Access Elevator for getting it right and understanding our commitment to safety and people...this process didn't happen, but it did...and that is a lot to be proud of....Gene and Teri, Bre & Tony and the PetJazz Park...here is to you! Not only are you among the reasons we celebrate, but why we seek to provide places for more such celebrations...Cheers

Hi Don... I'm so sorry, Access was out here today and the tech that assessed it said he couldn't recommend their company support this porch lift. He felt it was way to old, it was made in 1999 and those models are now obsolete. It had parts that need to be replaced they don't even have anymore..the newer lifts are more computerized now. I'm so sorry but this unit is only good for scrap at this point. Darn wish i had thought to donate it years ago. apologies for getting your hopes up, I hope you find something that will work for your community center. Gotta say I love your energy and if there is anyone who can figure this out it's YOU!
Teri

And we remember to also thank our friend Demarco with his offer to help 'haul it, if we call it'...he was the first one there in spirit awaiting our reply
